Remember how in my first post, one of my 11 tips for parenting with bipolar was to use positive affirmations? Well, that goes for living life with bipolar, or any mental illness, really. Positive affirmations are powerful--with practice and repetition.
My favorite technique to use with them is to pick one every morning that just resonates with me (and if one doesn't, just pick one randomly). Then whenever you have a minute throughout the day, especially if your mood takes little (or big) dive, repeat it to yourself a few times, aloud or in your head. It actually does help, and if it doesn't, it certainly doesn't hurt.
